Sunken USS Lexington discovered by Paul Allen's crew

Aurora Li
4:34 PM The wreckage of the World War Two aircraft carrier, USS Lexington, was found 10,000 feet below the Coral Sea, roughly 500 miles off the coast of Australia. The ship in good condition, with cannons still intact and the ship's name still visibly imprinted on the hull. The Lexington was one of the first aircraft carriers commissioned by the U.S., launched in 1925. On May 8, 1942, an abandon ship was ordered and the USS Phelps scuttled the Lexington to prevent its capture. Credit:PAUL G. ALLEN Via Reuters
